Cybertantra
The latest iteration of Saga, my long-running experiment with gen-AI pipelines, and my first attempt at long-form. The art comes from OpenAI image generation, and a virtual camera moves across each image, following whatever the current sentence is about. The narration is Eleven v4, generated in chunks with a warm-up line before each one and stitched back together, so the voice holds for a fifty-minute episode. The score is Eleven Music, and everything is cut in Remotion.
Here's a short version. You'll find the full episode and the Shorts below.
Talking Statues
Unconditional Carving, a studio in Missouri, has started an experimental project: carvings you come across in the forest and can actually talk to. The idea is that you wander the woods, find these spirits one by one, and have a conversation with each. I built the first one, a jackalope with a Raspberry Pi, a microphone and speakers inside, connected to an ElevenLabs agent. It's location-aware, and it sleeps until someone wakes it up.
The Pulse
A reimagining of narrative. A novel has a timeline of events and a whole world around it. The Pulse keeps the world, the characters and the places, and lets go of the timeline: you can do whatever you want, in any order, and the story follows you. It's very immersive. The narrator for Shadow Over Innsmouth is a clone of Orson Welles, running as an ElevenLabs agent.
Anima
A system for creating LucasArts-style point-and-click games. You write the story in StoryScript, a language I designed for it, and an art pipeline turns AI video into the characters' animations. I built a full game on it, Shadow Over Innsmouth, with the dialogue tree left open: type anything to anyone, and they answer in character, in their own voice. Next I want to leave the decisions open too, like in The Pulse, so you make your own way as you go: say you want to go to the bus station, and one is created in the style of the story. I've started on that, and it's on hold for now.
Saga
The gen-AI pipeline behind my YouTube channels. Its first iteration was The Last Alchemist: I set out to build a completely automated channel where all I'd give it was the editorial line, and I wanted to prove it could grow exponentially. In 34 days it made and uploaded 205 Shorts, gained 1,000 subscribers and drew 135K views, with no paid promotion, at under $1 a Short. It's an old project on old models. Once it had proved the point, I stopped and waited for the models to be ready. The second iteration, in 2024, was a writers' room of agents for long-form scripts: brief, research, outline, draft, critique and final script. The latest is Cybertantra.
